[Luca can guess at where Molly is going to be. And that place is "not anywhere near food or water", so Luca is stopping by the kitchen first to get some snacks (crackers, cheese, and some cut-up fruit) and a glass of water. With these in hand, Luca walks over to the simulation room area.
