Tell me, aside from the ... moving picture thing. What do you think about a lot of the things around this place? In the kitchen. The bathing rooms. [ he... pulls out his phone and waves it. ]

I'm amazed that they smell as clean as they do. I've seen indoor bathrooms that include a toilet before, but usually they require a lot of floral scents to cover up the smell of a sewer. But these ones seem so clean, it's quite amazing. And with a water pump right there in the room- one that even supplies hot water on demand, without boiling it- getting ready in the morning should be quick.

[He's not a bathroom nerd, I swear. He's just a fucking peacock and takes forever to get ready in the morning.]

True. The scent, or lack thereof, is a big difference and the power and array of what's available to just get clean? Impressive.

But the point is, you don't recognise them. Or, I'm assuming you don't. And neither do I. But there are people here that do, and treat them as if they're normal, even mundane things.

And the advancements are far too vast to simply say "Oh, they're more technologically advanced than us" too. It's like being transported to a future like the ones they talk about in speculative fiction.

Exactly. It's like night and day.

The difference in what everyone knows is too varied to assume we all come from the same timeframe, at the very least. Incomprehensible as it might be to consider. And while our technological knowledge might be more similar, maybe we're not even from the same place or time as each other.

We just don't know.

I think this means we need to learn as much as we can about this new technology and use it frequently.

Oh, I'm not against learning what it can do. Not sure how I'd feel about going back to living without it once we're done here but... might as well indulge in it, seeing as that's what we're literally being told to do.

The implication's there, that we will leave eventually. How long "eventually" is I don't know, but most of us probably have something to get back to.
