I do think there are worse things one might witness.
[ And as she glances his way-- yep, the perfect example ensues.
The study is beautifully furnished and ornate. A man, nobility from the way he's dressed and the proud way he carries himself, is surrounded by three other men in dark hoods, as rain drums down incessantly from outside the darkened windows.
In one corner of the room, Primrose, barely into her teenage years, is huddled underneath a desk, heart pounding in her ears.
One of the men speaks, low and lilting. "Funny how it works, isn't it? Everything that happens in this world falls into one of two neat little categories. Things one's better off knowing, and things one's better off... not. Geoffrey Azelhart, I'm afraid you've been poking your nose into the latter."

"Make sure he's dead... and let's leave this place before we're seen."
The first man crouches to examine the body, then nods. And soon, all three of them depart, missing the girl huddled underneath the desk, eyes bright with tears but mouth set in a determined frown as fury slowly begins to well up within her. ]
But yeah, seeing that makes his own problems seem so small. As soon as it's over he's looking at her with a look of sympathy, torn on if he should reach out or leave her be.]
My apologies, that was a very personal one.
[He's apologizing for spying on her past, even if he had no control over it.]
[ She'll just point that out, even as she slightly glances away, because. It's never going to be a fond memory of hers. It's never going to not hurt. ]
[But it doesn't make it any less personal. And while he's going to respect her and not ask for details about her father's death, there's still that awkward silence between them. Which he will attempt to smash through in the most awkward way possible.]
...right, well then! Since this place sees fit to make us share personal things about ourselves, perhaps we should take it as a sign that we should chat and get to know each other better? Outside of the, er. Negative memories.
