He's a scholar first and foremost. I know he left the Empire on purpose, but I don't know him well enough to have ever asked why. But he's obsessive with his research, and if you believe rumours his goal is to make it so that anyone can have a crest if that's what they want. No arranging marriages and looking down on nobles who fail to produce heirs with crests.

Where am I meant to be going? Aside from my usual dealings, there's not a lot out there to off me if I get to end the war early.
