[HELLO YURI wherever he is Luca is coming up to hug from behind and bury his face in Yuri's shoulder.]

Can this day already be over? I'm tired of seeing personal secrets and giving away my own every time I look at someone!

[ HELLO LUCA. his default is to immediately tense up when he's suddenly hugged from behind -- like a cornered, started cat that's been caught unaware. but he does relax when Luca starts whining about the unfairness of this whole situation. ]

... Tell me about it. I'm not a fan of losing control over my own memories like this.

[Oh boy, that reaction. Luca does feel a little bad for it, and he makes a mental note to approach Yuri from the front in the future. And after a few moments he'll let go and pull away.]

You don't even want to know how many people have seen me quite literally in the mud. It's like it's choosing all of the embarrassing moments in my life to put on display.

Please forgive me if I don't gaze at your gorgeous eyes today. I don't want to submit you to something as horrifying as me tripping over my own feet.

[ pfft. ]

I'm pretty sure there's as much chance of me seeing that kind of thing in person as there is in a contrived excuse to put all our past memories on display, Luca.

You never know, I can be quite clumsy sometimes. It's a wonder I didn't tip over the gondola on our date.

And there you were trying to reassure me that falling out of the gondola was unlikely to happen. Little did I know....

I never mean for it to happen on purpose. I swear.

[He's smiling though. And even though he had been trying to avoid eye contact, he is still glancing in Yuri's direction.]

I don't know, if you don't mean for it to happen but know you're clumsy enough anyway, does that absolve you of responsibility--

he's not going to get a lot further than that, really, because he's going to end up catching luca's eye and we all know how that goes. he gets a memory! (4:34 to 7:20), albeit one that yuri doesn't seem especially excited to have floating around like this, given the way his shoulders tense again. ]

[Oh boy that's a fun one. But it's not fun for Yuri, going by the look on his face. The worst part is, Luca may not be a noble himself but he brushes shoulders with them often enough to get the implications of Yuri's words there. It makes his heart ache in a painful way,just thinking of how Yuri's passion was killed so swiftly.

And while Luca has been trying to play off the memories as no big deal- he figures people would appreciate it if attention isn't drawn to their often personal pain- he just can't this time.]

Yuri, I...

[He starts to reach out for Yuri, but he sees those tense shoulders and his hand stops.]

It's fine.

[ he just sighs. tired, more than anything. ] Man, this place doesn't pull its punches when it comes to stepping all over your privacy, does it?

[ he still looks a little bit tense, but less so that he had done initially. he doesn't look pleased, exactly, but... well. it is what it is. ]

Which is a shame, I would have preferred to have conversations about these heavy topics when you were ready. Not when it's forced upon you.

Or not at all.

[ whoops. ]

But I suppose that's not a choice we're allowed here. Like the losing powers thing.

Or not at all, yes. The point is you having personal agency over your past and how others find it out.

[ sometimes you just don't really talk about yourself and don't plan to ever. the yuri life. ]

I think this week is just proving that this place isn't exactly bothered about that.

[He pauses, considering something.]

Come, let's go to the tea room and get something to drink. If we're going to be forced to share memories of the past, then I'm going to at least pick something I want to share with you.

... It's not a transaction, Luca. You can run off and avoid it if you'd prefer.

[ he can see what he's trying to do, and certainly he'd say this was an "owe me" situation if they were dealing with physical goods but this isn't quite the same. ]

You're right, it's not a transaction. I don't owe you anything. I just happen to enjoy being around you enough that I want to talk with you more. Is that so wrong?

[Is Luca being a bit of a tsundere? Maybe. But he does want to stay by Yuri and spend more time with him, that part is genuine.]

[ he sighs. ]

Sure. But avoid eye contact if you don't want to show me anything.

[He's going to forget at some point and share a memory because of course he is, I want to stab you in the heart becks.

But for now they can go get some tea. And it's actually good tea this time too, nothing too bitter.]

[ thank you for good tea this time around. please attack me directly.

he might as well get himself a comfort tea -- seiros tea, maybe? and snacks that are avoiding chocolate for now. ]

This wouldn't be a bad time for savoury snacks, after last week.

Mmm, there really was too much chocolate last week.

[Their chocolate kisses aren't so nice now :(

But little crackers are nice too. He can munch on those.]

Where to begin...I suppose I could tell you about the university itself.

If I see another bar of that chocolate again, I’m going to smash it into pieces.

alas, luca’s science experiment has been soured. whatever shall he do? ]

That’s where you study... Sfeer Theory, right? [ he’s thinking back to their previous conversation and discussion of magical systems. he’s fairly sure he has the name right. ]

[It's fine, they can do non-food-based kisses. Kissing is always good.]

That's it, yes. Truthfully the university is for several branches of study, but that's the department I stick to. The campus is so large that you have to travel to different buildings to get to different departments.

Too much of a good thing is a bad thing, etc, etc.

So, more than Sfeer theory, but that's just what you focus on. ... Sounds kind of like Garreg Mach, in terms of the size and having to move around a lot, but without the variety. You can study anything there?

Well,not anything, it's a school related to the sciences. You wouldn't go there to study literature or military tactics, for example. But any branch of science, yes.
