I'm not saying they're not. They've very talented in their own ways! [ y'know sometimes one of them just... invents a whole new, never before seen magic spell because she doesn't understand idioims. idiot savant! ]
We spent all of last week without anything, and I know some people here fought and probably had wounds. Can't say I blame them, especially.
Depends on the weapons he has and the fighting style he uses. Take away a weapon from some people and they're no better than your average non-fighter, save for basic survival instincts you get when learning to fight.
[ ... ]
Simulation room could replicate them. Or just ask the Avatars and they should give you something that semi-works.
They don't really like small talk, but they wanted to know all about my interests. We talked about reading for a bit so I think they like reading. I get the feeling they don't like magic, though.
[ he snorts. ] Don't be. I think they're just grumpy and shy. Maybe. Definitely grumpy - go in with a specific conversation in mind or they'll find a way to wriggle out of it.
Oh? [ elaborate, luca. ] Like... how so, magic is magic.
The results are the same as magic. Being able to spark a fire, giant wind gusts that can knock people off of their feet, that sort of thing. But the difference is understanding how the elements react to create those reactions naturally.
Take fire, for instance: If you have proper kindling available, what you do is encourage some of the particles to vibrate at a specific frequency. When dry, combustible materials vibrate at that specific frequency, the friction between them creates the spark needed to start a fire. From there, it's a matter of manipulating the oxygen in the air around that spark to encourage growth into fire.
With proper training and practice, someone can do that in a fraction of a second. But that is wholly a scientific process, not magic. You're not just creating fire from nothing, you're using the materials available to make fire.
[Be careful Yuri, he is a nerd and will talk about this for literal hours. He actually sounds a bit excited to talk about this even in such a basic way.]

Or perhaps people are fighting more, Wrath certainly is an indulgence here too.

It certainly is. Fighting it out is the easy option though.

Also, fighting it out isn't easier for everyone here.

Date: 2021-02-18 02:20 am (UTC)Comparing the number of people who can fight to those who can't? Maybe. But I would potentially call Mineo an easy target for similar reasons.
[ ... ] Maybe someone should teach you guys how to sword fight.

I wouldn't be opposed, but do we even have swords here?
