We spent all of last week without anything, and I know some people here fought and probably had wounds. Can't say I blame them, especially.

Mm, yeah I've had to get creative with one of those. Cleaning it was really the best I could do at the time, but it seems like was healing alright?

In terms of coming up with wrath based indulgences? It's hard to beat. You've never thought about learning to fight a little?

Mineo did say it might be a good idea. He seemed to be under the impression that people would see me as an 'easy target'.

Comparing the number of people who can fight to those who can't? Maybe. But I would potentially call Mineo an easy target for similar reasons.

Depends on the weapons he has and the fighting style he uses. Take away a weapon from some people and they're no better than your average non-fighter, save for basic survival instincts you get when learning to fight.

Don't go for a two handed greatsword. Just a regular blade. That's what I use, so there's no reason you can't either.

Huh. I will be sure to bring it up at some point, then. I still need to make my rounds, I've only managed to talk to Lust, Greed, and Envy.

They don't really like small talk, but they wanted to know all about my interests. We talked about reading for a bit so I think they like reading. I get the feeling they don't like magic, though.

Hm. Well, it's not like I'm an all-out mage so maybe I won't get into any slap fights about it.

Hmm. I'll have to be careful with Pride, then. What I know is considered a science in my world, but many have told me it's similar to magic.

[ he snorts. ] Don't be. I think they're just grumpy and shy. Maybe. Definitely grumpy - go in with a specific conversation in mind or they'll find a way to wriggle out of it.

Oh? [ elaborate, luca. ] Like... how so, magic is magic.

The results are the same as magic. Being able to spark a fire, giant wind gusts that can knock people off of their feet, that sort of thing. But the difference is understanding how the elements react to create those reactions naturally.

Take fire, for instance: If you have proper kindling available, what you do is encourage some of the particles to vibrate at a specific frequency. When dry, combustible materials vibrate at that specific frequency, the friction between them creates the spark needed to start a fire. From there, it's a matter of manipulating the oxygen in the air around that spark to encourage growth into fire.

With proper training and practice, someone can do that in a fraction of a second. But that is wholly a scientific process, not magic. You're not just creating fire from nothing, you're using the materials available to make fire.

So you have to learn it and also have the right conditions to use it in? You couldn't just summon fire in the middle of a battle, you'd need kindling and a spark before you could actually create the fire in the first place?

[ that's... literally the space of time it would take for an enemy to gut you. ] It's just... something you learn and can instinctively use where I'm from. Limitations are your own, what your skills trend towards, and how much magic you can use before it drains you, and that's about it.
